This is a beautiful beach when it is empty, which is a rare occasion. There is a non-resident fee of $10 on weekdays and $20 on weekends for cars. These hours are in effect from 9am-9pm on weekdays and 8am-9pm on weekends. The lot fills up very quickly since people also use it for the nearby cliff walk so be sure to arrive as early as possible. The views are expansive and peaceful. It really smells like the ocean here due to the sticky and salty air. I would recommend stopping by here but don't make it your first priority when visiting Newport. Plenty of other better sights to see, some of which are less expensive.

I mean, it's a beach. In the Northeast. It's seaside. It smells bad, the sand isn't white, but the weather is gorgeous and the sky is blue. It's crowded. I don't think the lifeguards would actually do any life guarding, but maybe it's the idea of security, who knows. We had to pay $10 for parking, and the "showers" are more like "misters" but the kids had fun (we didn't stay for more than an hour and a half.) There's a "boardwalk" that's nothing like the ones in California. Better than Kansas City, where we live where it's currently 95 but feels like 105.

What a nice beach. Hard grey sand though. Ocean has nice waves which you saw lots of surfers taking advantage of. Staff maintains the whole beach including bathrooms, changing area. This beach is in Middletown, Rhode Island. Only 2 miles from Newport.

Nice, clean beach. Favorite part is the double lobster rolls. Prices have creeped up over the years but always happy to visit. Careful of the seagals! They are notorious for going though your bags looking for food while you are not around your stuff and I've seen some people lose some food to then while walking back to their spot

The beach is good compared to some NY beaches. The water has some kind of red algae in the shore. My kids enjoyed a lot.
