Kona Skatepark

8739 Kona Avenue

Kona Skatepark is the oldest outdoor, privately owned, skatepark in the United States, and possibly the world. Kona is a legendary skatepark, and should be on every skaters list of "parks to skate"!

What an iconic place to enjoy time with your kids or just shred some concrete. I first skated here in 1986 and although it has some new additions for modern skaters, it now allows anything with wheels (non-motorized of course). BMX bikes, scooters, heck I've even seen someone on a uni-cycle here. Friendly and professional staff that promotes safety first and foremost. The crew here promotes positive and courteous behavior. I read last year that Kona was going to start renovating the park and it is my hope and wish that they keep the freestyle area, snake run, bowl with the original look and feel from the glory days of youthfulness concrete. If you don't know how to skate there are lessons for beginners and for those who want to improve their skills there are lessons for you too. Make it a day or a few hours to experience endless summers carving up the concrete.

Awesome place to come skate. There is a lot to do. They welcome, skateboarders, scooters, rollerbladers and BMX. Everyone is super friendly. I love how everyone takes turns and look after the younger kids so well. If you haven't been I suggest trying it out!

My 14 year old son loved his time here. Said everyone was real nice. I was so nervous to let him go but once seeing the facility inside i was more comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Great classic fun for the kids, plenty to do for all skill levels. My daughter always has a blast.
