The Ojai Skate Park opened in February 2000 as a temporary skate park to provide Ojai Valley skateboarders a safe but challenging place to have fun and practice their skills.
The Skate Park was comprised of 7,300 sq. ft. of wood and Skatelite (a wood plastic composite). An agreement between the City and the Ojai Unified School District allowed a permanent inground concrete skateboard park to be constructed and expanded to 12,500 sq. ft. on school district property leased by the City.
