Smithville Powerplant Skatepark
. For a Sunday there were a few RV campsites several available two cars in the main Park incredibly quiet there was some fish a secret gem don't come out here I want to park for myself
Great area to view a variety of wildlife tracks near the fishing bridge and down the river in both directions (note: this is only when the river is barely running of course) If you head over to the bridge there can also be found a variety of wildlife tracks as well underneath it. If your interested in seeing otter tracks, or otters themselves then consider this river. I have also documented beaver, nutria, turtle, armadillo, bobcat, western harvest mouse, white footed mouse, herons, egrets, ducks, and more. Also further down 71 there is an area known as Shipp Lake. This is another neat area for wildlife tracking. Just pull off 71 onto Loop Rd and park on the right before the train tracks. Then walk down to the water area. Look at it on a map before going.
